Sacred Raku Urns
Our sacred Raku Urns are created by artist William Turner using a special copper matte raku glaze that produces an incredibly vibrant metallic finish. Each is hand signed and dated on the bottom. The clay vessel is made in a special "slip cast" mold, which gives each piece made in a particular style uniformity in size and shape. The artist sees the vessel as the "canvas" for his raku artwork, which is painted in fire. The unique copper matte glaze, developed over a period of 20 plus years, creates the intense shades of red, blue, and purple along with the brilliant lighter pastels of gold, pink, and lavender.
Every Sacred Raku Urn is unique unto itself because the finish can never be duplicated on another piece. Each of our urns is lined with a fired sealer glaze on the inside. They're suitable for display in any room or sacred space, adding a very special touch and focal point.
We include several individual photos of each Sacred Urn to show how it appears from different angles. It's really hard to pick a favorite.
For some time, we've wanted to offer a beautiful ceramic piece particularly suitable as a remembrance container for cremation ashes, as we've had folks ask about containers for human ashes as well as those of special pets. We feel these Sacred Urns fill this need in a way that is sincere and respectful as well as beautiful and unique.
*Dimensional Weight Surcharge for AIR shipments only. We package our sacred urns very carefully, using a "box within a box" to prevent damage. Due to the size of the outer box used for our large urns, we will need to manually ad the UPS Dimensional Weight surcharge (for AIR shipments ONLY)to the air shipping charge calculated by our shopping cart at checkout. This applies ONLY if 2nd Day or Next Day AIR shipping is selected for the larger urns. The surcharge does NOT apply to ANY sacred urn shipped by GROUND. Please contact us if you have questions.
