Sacajawea Commemorative Beaded Bundles
Wyoming artist Dakota Rose designed these delightful little Native American bundles to commemorate Sacajawea, Lewis and Clark's Native American guide. They are accented with different shades of blue beads, as this color was Sacajawea's favorite. Dakota Rose hand twists the fringe on all of her Native American crafted designs. This is a time consuming process that adds to both the beauty and authenticity of each individual piece.
The bundles are made from a genuine "brain tanned" hide that was carefully treated by a Cherokee Native American. Many of the white and blue beads date from the American Fur Trade Era and each bundle is secured by an adjustable leather cord and a particularly unique "slide" bead. As an extra bonus, each of our Sacajawea Beaded Bundles contains an authentic US Sacajawea commemorative $1 coin and comes with handcrafted booklet by Dakota Rose telling the story of Sacajawea.

 | "Eye Medicine Bead" Bundle The bundle incorporates a unique "Eye Medicine Bead" along with two "Snake" beads on the slide. The semi-transparent blue Bodmer beads in the fringe are from the Fur Trade Era. There's also a wooden "Red Willow" bead which is considered very spiritual by Native Americans.
The actual bundle pockets, which contain the Sacajawea $1 coin, range from about 1.5” to 2” across and 6” to 7” in overall length including the fringe. When shaken lightly, these bundles have a pleasant jingling sound. In Native American tradition, this sound reminds us of the ever-present Spirit that permeates all life and is always nearby. Our Sacajawea Commemorative Bundles can be worn as a necklace, strung from a belt, or hung in a special place as a reminder of the Native American heritage of this country.
