Sandcastles That Won't Wash Away! (Some Are Nightlights!)
We first thought these Sandcastles would be for children, but after more consideration we realized they are uniquely enjoyable and great fun for any adult who ever visited the beach or would like to be there (that’s about all of us!).
Our Sandcastles start out as lightweight plaster casts formed from a “castle” mold. The hardened cast is then covered with a mixture of genuine Pacific beach sand along with a hardening agent, producing a real sand surface that won’t wash away with the tide. Of course, a few grains of sand will ‘shed” when the castle is handled, but we look at this as a mark of authenticity. After all, how can one visit the beach without getting a little sand on the hands!
We offer two styles of Sandcastles—lighted and unlighted. The lighted castles are hollowed out in the center and come wired with a low wattage bulb and in-line switch. You can easily substitute a tealight or battery candle, but we kind of prefer the electric because it reduced handling, and it makes for a great nightlight or display light. The Sandcastles weigh about 2 ˝ lbs each—so they’re stable and solid, but not heavy.
Each Sandcastle comes with a nice card that reads as follows: Your Enchanted Sandcastle will not wash away with the tide. It is a permanent stronghold for your memories of the sea and summer and childhood, a fortress for your fantasies, and a reminder that wishes and dreams can come true.” Plus there’s a beautiful poem by Caroline Thompson on the reverse side.

|  Lighted SandcastleThis wonderful Lighted Sandcastle works great as a room accent or as a nightlight. It's suitable for adults who love the beach (who doesn't?) as well as for children. The lighted sandcastle comes with a low wattage electric light and cord with switch included. We include the "Enchanted Sandcastle" story card and poem with each Sandcastle.
The Sandcastle itself weighs about 2 1/2 lbs, so it's stable and sturdy but not overly heavy. The castle stands 9" tall (at the highest tower) and is about 5" across at the base.

Note: This sandcastle is not hollowed out on the inside and therefore not suited to illumination from within.
