These intriguing and unique wooden puzzle boxes are hand carved in Viet Nam. They're made using various wood types from sustainable native Vietnamese trees. The darker shaded wood is from the rosewood family, and the lighter toned wood is from the jackfruit tree.
These wooden puzzle boxes are of high quality and very well made by skilled artisans. Of note is the hidden inner chamber, which is smooth and finished on all the inside surfaces--a definite mark of a high quality box.
Each handcrafted wooden box is composed of 4 basic components: the ornately carved sliding lid, the hollowed out wooden base, a small vertical slide "lock" that holds the lid in place, and another concealed lid that covers the hidden box inside.
Our Vietnamese hand carved wooden puzzle boxes are excellent gifts for adults and children both. The make a great "hiding" place for those small items that are so precious to us: rings, jewelry, and special keepsakes.
These puzzle boxes are of a good size--the square/rectangular shapes about 4" x 5" and the longer ones about 3" x 8". They’re all about 2” in height. Sizes for each particular box are listed with that box. The "hidden" compartments inside vary some from box to box, but generally run an inch or so smaller than the outside dimensions.
