“Amazing” is the only word we can think of to describe these incredible Crystalline Glaze Porcelain vases. They are NOT painted! The color and design you see is a natural crystal pattern that actually grows inside the glaze during the precisely controlled process of firing, heating, and cooling.
This method was developed over 150 years ago, yet few people have ever seen it outside a museum. Our Crystalline Glaze Porcelain vases are made by Jon Price, a third generation potter, and one of a just few artists today who have mastered this extremely challenging technique. Each one-of-a-kind piece is signed by Jon on the bottom.
The vivid colors and crystalline patterns are formed deep inside the glaze, so they are permanent. These vases are also quite heavy because the material becomes very dense during the firing process. As a result they are very durable--not nearly as fragile as typical porcelain pieces.
