Artistic Ceramic Desktop Sand Gardens
The Sand Garden or Zen Garden originates in Japan. The careful placement of the rocks and gentle raking of the sand is designed to calm the restless mind and reduce stress in busy lives. Still a practice with Buddhist Monks, spending time with a sand garden--whether full size or desktop--is a meditation of sorts, putting us in touch with the elements of nature...rocks and sand...and bringing a touch of tranquility to our daily lives.

|  Oval Ceramic Sand GardenThis Ceramic Sand Garden ceramic tray is a very pleasing, glossy black oval. It's good sized, measuring approximately 11" by 8 3/4" and 1" deep. Our soothing Oval Ceramic Sand Garden comes with plenty of pure white fine sand, a very nice rock or two, along with a small, functional sand rake, plus a somewhat strange but loveable little bird. You can add you own personal touch with special or sacred rocks and other miniatures.

It comes with an abundance of pure white, fine grained sand, a couple of small, natural rocks, a miniature, functional sand rake, plus a somewhat strange but loveable miniature bird--that's really kind of cute in an odd sort of way.
The highlight of this piece, though, is a substantial rock vase with an engraved Zen design featuring a bonsai tree against an outline moon background. Add a personal touch with your own rocks and miniatures.
Note: the design is actually carved into the rock and filled in with a black background. It is NOT painted on the rock surface.
Our large Sacred Ways Artist's Sand Garden is unique rectangular shape, 17" long, 4 1/2" wide and about 1" deep. The carved stone is about 6" tall, 6" wide, and 3" deep, and it features a carved "vase" indentation at the top suitable for either fresh or dried floral accents.
