The buffalo motif and background are done with authentic with clay/hide glue paints. The beater stick is white willow with elk hide padding and deerhide thongs accented with Chinese beads ca 1880. This Native American Hand Drum has a really nice sound, and it's made to be used respectfully. The drum is 8" across and the beater stick measures 9".
