Ahimsa Silk Large Shawls
 Our beautiful Ahimsa Silk Large Shawls are luxuriously soft, incredibly comfortable, and big enough to let you really wrap yourself in total bliss.
"Ahimsa" is a Hindu/Sanskrit word meaning non-violence. The Ahimsa Silk used in these shawls is produced after the silk moth has left its cocoon, is a consciously made "cruelty-free" fabric. No bleach is used on this fabric, and the coloration comes from herbal dyes, which impart no toxic qualities into the cloth.
Ahimsa silk has had a positive effect on both the environment and the livelihood of many families in rural India. Over the past 3 years 10,000 sustainable livelihoods have been created, over twenty thousand acres of natural forests have been rejuvenated and maintained and over three thousand acres of plantation have been raised due to the production of Ahimsa Silk.
