About Us
Sacred Ways is all about an ideal: a belief that certain handmade crafts not only convey beauty and distinction, but also meaning, a meaning that’s simply not present in most merchandise found on the shelves of the local superstore or warehouse club. Sure, we all need to buy these “things.” That’s just part of life on this planet. But when you want something really special for yourself or someone else, just think how much more meaningful it is when the “thing” you purchase has a genuinely unique quality about it, that special handmade “feel” as significant as the item itself. And when you give someone a handcrafted gift, you really give them two things--the item itself of course, and even more important, the story, craftsmanship, “feel,” and meaning that goes with it.
Each item at Sacred Ways is consciously selected because there is something truly special about it…perhaps in the way it is made, or a particular quality it conveys, or often something special about the artist who made it. Many of our items handcrafted, and handmade crafts have a special quality about them that mass produced goods do not.

Sacred Ways is a business owned and operated by Ananda, (Please click here for more information) a worldwide spiritual work founded in 1968 and still thriving and growing today. Sacred Ways is located at Ananda Village, a spiritual community in the Sierra Nevada Foothills of Northern California.
Sacred Ways was started in 2005, and Ananda Service, Inc., the parent corporation, was established in 1978. Over the years, Ananda Service Inc. has operated a natural food store and restaurant, a ladies fine boutique, a publishing company, and small incense and scent oil manufacturer. We now focus on internet sales, service, and product fulfillment.
One primary aspect of our lives here is service to others, and through Sacred Ways we seek to bring beauty, integrity, and higher consciousness into this world. We strive to do this by offering beautiful products with meaning, by supporting worthwhile causes, by providing fair and honest income to the skilled artisans who produce these handmade crafts, and by treating our patrons not just as valued customers but also as true friends.
